Collins today
|
Anyone else see when Slav was giving him instructions coming on, ginge almost completely dismissed him?
Apparently a big falling out over the Europa sending off and we tried to shift him.
Good that we've kept him or we'd have been in the real shit when Jenkinson went off injured. Throwing Oxford into the scenario probably wouldn't have been good for his development.

Didn't notice that, thought he was very good when he came on though

He didn't dismiss him at all. He was listening but watching the game at the same time.
Plus he's stated that he'd love to finish his career at West Ham.
Why look for a negative on a day when there isn't one?

What is with people trying to find negatives?
No, HH, he didn't dismiss him. He then came on and done his job.
No issue here.

Not looking for a negative at all Pagey, I'm climbing the walls with joy but just a discussion point about what I saw.

He's an excellent experienced tough pro who will play a valuable part in our squad this season. We'd be a worse off squad without him.

I doubt it was anything like that, Collins is a professional and he has also seen from the Amalfitano situation what happens to players who throw their toys out of the pram with Bilic.
If Collins is interested in playing any part in what could be a magnificent season for us (even on the bench) he won't confront the manager.

Top man Ginge, played well when he came on, unlucky to be out in the cold after having a good season last time round.

He needs to keep making these kind of appearances, so he won't miss out of a shiny champion's medal at the end of the season.

Stupid fucking thread he is a very good 4th option and the substitution was a good one he did well at CB and Tomkins slid over fine.
I think Oxford was supposed to play some part today given he was our only defensive midfielder however with the way the second half was going there was no way Slaven could put him in and the only substitution to be made not due to injury was Lanzini off for Jelavic. Couldn't even take Sakho off for Carroll we needed his pace so desperately.

When you need someone to put in a tackle and get the ball as far away from the goal as possible, there isn't anyone much better than Collins. I actually felt relieved when he came on.
